The music of softmemory starts out as a live improv. We play 90% of the instruments all live straight into the mixer.

Jesse plays a double neck guitar bass with a looper on each. He also controls the drum machine/

Melissa sings and plays keyboards, she has a looper on both and performs all the looping on the fly. She rarely does any vocal overdubs so all the words effects pitched vocals etc are done live with the help of the loopers.

We play till we hit a nice groove then we jam it out till we feel we have had enough. After that Jesse strips away the bits that arent the best. Cutting away whatever isnt working or clouding up the track. Adding in Beats and occasional synth sounds.
